The first person that comes to mind is Lulu (FFX), though I very much doubt she plays the guitar. It's hard to say what music certain characters like because it's not something really explored in these games. I seem to recall Zell owning a guitar, not too sure though.
None of the characters fit that description. The closest thing to dark would be Squall, to gothic would be Lulu. Most of the FF worlds didnt have any heavy metal or rock music (or at least it wasnt shown), and the only time I've seen any of them play instruments is in VIII, and you could choose who had what instrument.
Umm people are you forgetting the direct sequal to FFX, Which has Paine in it? I would say that would be his candidate for the Gothic/Rocker Female from Final Fantasy

Yes, I forgot Paine. Still, she only fits the category as much as Lulu does. She doesnt weild a guitar or listen to rock.
well, she has that rocker look to her, Lulu is more of a romantic goth ... paine looks a bit more hard corem you know with the sword with skulls on it and stuff xD

You forgot about Edward from FFIV. He's probably a female but. . . well, I don't know if he's very gothic or not. Certainly not a rocker.
Celes was a closet rocker. :rock:
Selphie played the guitar. Much more folky than rocky, though.
