Grin lol more questions...an icon on the desktop won't go away

Motherboard works (cmos jumper plugged in the wrong spot), and everything is just as it was before, just faster (I think...haven't benchmarked (done benchmarking?) yet). However I think either AIM or ICQ installed one of those blasted 'AOL Broadband!!!!!11' icons on my desktop. Except this is registered as a system icon and I can't delete it. It doesn't show up in the command prompt when I dir the desktop directory.

How do I remove it? Registry edit?

You can find a patch for that kind of thing <a href="http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/mirrors.xml">here</a>.

anyway I removed it myself using *gasp* registry edits. I was asking because I was afraid to mess around with it. *shrug*

You can't right click it and delete?

I mean, I can do that to the My Computer icon, so it seems a bit odd that you can't get rid of that.

Yeah I thought so too. It gave me a *draws a circle with a slash through it* icon / picture. Oh well.
