what would you suggest is the best overall armor, (strongest + most materia slots) in the game?

Depends.

If you want power i say that ziedrich thingy.If you want slots wizard bracelet.I think Mystile and that Aegis thingy is good too.There isnt really the "best" armour.

I like Mystile. It has good evade and six slots.
