Lander: Let's go under. The sooner I can get to Alstin, the better. Who knows? The fate of the kingdom might rest on this?

Biggs: Uh huh, whatever. Let's go. You do know your way around in a fight, right kid?

Lander: Yeah, I do. I AM one of the King's Royal Dragoons after all.

Wedge: I thought the king was dead.

Lander: Don't remind me. Anyway, my point still stands. I do know how to fight. Besides, why does it matter? I'm not going to be fighting anyone up here.

Biggs: Kid, if you thought the Dragoons were tough fighters, you'll be in big trouble in those mountains. Why do you think your kingdom never has any wars? Because they couldn't stand up for a day against any real army. And you'd better be ready to fight in those mountains, cause there's some serious monsters up there.

The three of them continue on their way. They soon reach a dark cave.

Biggs: Here we go. Be ready for anything under here.

The party enters the cave. They fight a few fairly tough random encounters. Biggs and Wedge are much stronger than Lander, but the enemies are easily their equal. After a while of slowly finding their way through the maze-like cave, they come to an underground river with a bridge crossing it. On the other side is a very old-looking stone door. The party tries to cross the bridge, but a monster leaps up from under the bridge and smashes through it.

Granite Fiend

The boss is a huge, many legged creature that vaguely resembles a preying mantis, but made of stone, and with razor-sharp crystal blades in place of hands. It is fairly tough, but not overly so. The party beats it, and it runs away. They start to leave but suddenly it leaps back out at them. They are unconscious and about to be killed when two people run in through the door.

*FMV*One of them is a mysterious, middle-aged man. The other is a young, pretty, and extremely tough-looking woman. The two attack the monster, the man using a combination of magic and magic-assisted physical attacks, and the woman using a whip with a knife-blade on the end. The woman scoops up Lander and Wedge and runs, and the man picks up Biggs and follows, still fending off the monster.

The party awakens in a small house in the mountains. The man is in the house with them.

Lander: Thank you for saving us.

Mysterious Man: No problem, Lander.

Lander: How do you know my name sir?

Mysterious Man:*Laughing*How could I forget you Lander? Oh, and by the way, the name's Alstin.
