the sharp edge are the pointer which are very sharp if i remember well

and the bright fire would be the black materia ( or the temple itself which is the same) because the black materia supply the clock with its power and when u take the black materia you cut its energy supply

The jumping and the fire remind me of Nanaki/Red XIII.
The fire makes me think of Gi Nattak and Soul Fires, the boss battle in Gi cave... I know it's probobly wrong, but hey! It's worth a shot!
