Like Jenova, Aeris does have something to do with the person in the riddle, although indirectly.

Well done. "Waxen steed" was referring to Pale Horse, one of Safer Sephiroth's attacks. "Less harmful" was a reference to the name 'Safer' i.e. 'more safe'. All the other clues you guessed correctly. Your turn.

Ah yes, very good riddle. Kind of in the every line means something different style, but not. I liked it.

For reference I actually think DaremihC's has potential. It's just a very different style to what we're used to, if it becomes more standard it could be pretty good.

That said I'm gonna pass on my go for now, I'll try and start posting once I can remember enough about the game to write one.

EDIT: Okay never mind I'm going to post a riddle, but its a murder mystery style that I used a while back in Gen FF. This is just a test to see if it'll work as a style, so there isn't as much FFVII knowledge required as there should be, so if someone wants to riddle while this ones going feel free . I wrote this quickly, so it may not work, be warned, it is a test:

One week after Sephiroth is defeated the party find themselves stranded in the mountains outside Cosmo Canyon. The effects of the forces they encountered one week earlier have been unpredictable, but for now the party are beginning to act slightly oddly. The party wake up to find Cloud dead, sliced open with his own sword.

Tifa devastated, simply sits next to Cloud in tears, she can’t speak.

Barret tries to comfort her, but doesn’t really know what to say, once he is closer though he points out that Clouds materia is gone however.

Nanaki, who had gone to get help two days earlier, returns alone to tell the group that Cosmo Canyon has been heavily damaged, Bugenhagen is too busy trying to help the wounded to offer them any assistance. He tells them that he saw Yuffie running away from camp on his way back, some six hours earlier.

Cid and Vincent had both been away from camp trying to establish radio contact with the Highwind. After some time, Vincent investigates the body. It is clear that Cloud had been asleep when the attack took place, and judging by the size and weight of Clouds sword, neither Yuffie, nor Nanaki could have been the murderer.

The party decides to search for Yuffie, they head in the direction Nanaki said she was headed, eventually finding her lying dead at the bottom of a cliff. She has clearly died from a fall.

Cid finally manages to make contact with the Highwind, and after arriving to pick up the party, they confirm that noone else has been near the area.

EDIT EDIT: Hehe, I forgot, if you hadn't worked it out, the point is to solve the murder :P .

I think you should make a new thread if ya wanna start a murder mystery (great idea) As for the riddle, I seriously thought it was Yuffie, but for now I`ll guess Barret maybe he stole Cloud`s materia to sell it so Marlene can go to skool, and Yuffie caught him in the act so he pushed her of a cliff?

This is just a test, like I said, if people want to riddle whilst its being solved thats great. I'm not revealing the answer if people guess names, as there aren't enough to pick from, and the logic required to solve this conclusively is quite long I think, so if you post ideas I can offer hints along those lines. Oh and hypothesising about motives and character isn't really necessary, as the odd behaviour covers that, although some may be useful if you want.

Cloud, Nanaki, Cid, Vincent, Yuffie, Aeris.

So, that leaves Barret, Tifa, and Cait Sith. I can't narrow it down further.

This is slightly more complex than that, I'm not saying you're wrong, but to solve this you'll have to work out a few things that happen. Theres also possibly a bit of creativity needed.

Maybe Cloud did some sleepwalking and commited suicide. Yuffie then stole his materia.

Oh, I know. Red lied about Bugenhagen. He's supposed to be dead. Oh wait. Red's not strong enough, right. Darn.

I think it`s Tifa, while she eas weeping nxt to him I think she might of been hiding evidence, or stealing Clouds materia for reasons unknown?

What about Cait Sith? Wasn't he with the party? Or did you leave him out on purpose, and he applies to that last line wherein Cid states that no one else was in the area?

I can't narrow it down past Barret and Tifa. From there, I have to like theorise. Maybe Barret tried to set up Yuffie. "Look, his materia is gone!" but that didn't work b/c we know it wasn't Yuffie. Also, some weaker evidence would be Tifa's behavior helps her, but I can't be sure.

Okay, I'lm trying not to give away whats right and wrong here. You may have to be slightly more open minded in how you solve this riddle, it may be my fault as I included a phrase I shouldn't have. It doesn't make the riddle wrong, it just might be misleading. I'll give the hint that you should try and piece together what you know has happened, and that you should use a lot more of the information given.

Sorry I forgot to mention Weimar. Cait Sith isn't involved, I haven't really got a lot of details for this, but lets say his communication went down with the radio contact.

Seriously, someone post a riddle if they want, I'm happy for people to try and solve this, but if others want a normal riddle go ahead.
