A backyard battle shouldn't be held in rush hour. (um...?)
You'd think with a weapon that big they wouldn't resort to fighting like that. (he has a huge sword, and so does sephiroth)
Deep down he probably wasn't happy about his girl getting picked up, even if she was a 'friend'. (tifa was the guide)
EDIT: i just thought of something else, would it maybe be junon? you know how it has that big cannon thing and it as well as some soldiers (SPOILER) battle i dont remember, but i think its leviathan?

Hmmm.... That last line reminds me of Don Corneo's mansion..... let's see what I can put together... I've noticed PhoenixAsh often makes riddles concerning links between totally random things... So I'm just gonna say what I think and string it together...

You'd think with a weapon that big they wouldn't resort to fighting like that. (possibly Apps? "Fighting like that" could be in the sewer.... OR this also makes me think of Scarlett and Tifa having a slapping match on top of the sister ray)

Everyone's guesses have been pretty good, but one_winged_angel has made the most progress, I'll say that the solutions to two lines have been found so far. I'll also say that these aren't random, however this one is a little sneakier than some of my earlier riddles. Though in fairness I've done some much harder ones I think

He competes for his very freedom. (I'm gonna say that 'he' isn't referring to the same person, and say that Cloud is battling Rufus to get out... Or just one of the battles on the way out of the Shinra building)

Okay as this has been going a while, and it is a pretty hard riddle I'll give the answer.

You had to take each line pretty literally to crack them, as the connection isn't obvious. These are the scenes prior to aquiring each vehicle in the game :P. I know I'm cruel...

Thanks Giga Guess, and I gotta say that I've seen and made much trickier riddles than that. Line three was pretty damn literal, and one and four were actually solved.
Anyway, these threads are dieing at the minute, so someone else can go, I don't like doing straightforward ones.
