    Hmm, maybe it has to do with Sephiroth in the flashback. He's alone, working/reading/, looks down on everyone, then you might be talking about the burning of Nibelheim, ...

    The blood followed the plums. The plums had a reunion or something.

    You might also be talking about Midgar. The blood gave life to the sea, while the plate was looking down.

    I'm intentionally not giving massive clues to this, bear in mind it's only there as a background riddle while someone else writes the main one...

    I really can't say a lot here, the most important thing to note is the structure of this riddle. It isn't as uniform as it could be, but it's pretty much key to solving it properly. That said you could in theory solve this without a lot of the information given.

    I say what I think. If you disagree, then that is up to you.

    Ultima Weapon, borisnono. What riddle are you answering? He's asking what the blood is doing.

    Hmm...

    What exactly do you mean by the "structure" of the riddle?

    1st line-9 syllables
    2nd line-17 syllables
    3rd line-13 syllables
    4th line-20 syllables

    ...Nope, no clue there...

    (SPOILER)Judging just from the clues, I'd guess that the sun is Meteor. Meteor was alone in the sky doing what it was meant to do-destroy everything.

    The grass calling for the aid of the gods would be the land/people in despair at the situation, asking for hope but not knowing if any would come.

    The sea healing the earth would be the Lifestream stopping Meteor, though I can't make sense of the cold/hot bit.

    The plums then would be the heros or the Shinra. Cait Sith instructed people to take shelter in the slums, as did Rufus and company.

    Which would leave the blood to be Sephiroth, and what it did was hold Holy back.

    That's the most sense I can make of this. But if I'm wrong, I'll be happy to try again.
    My friend Delzethin is currently running a GoFundMe account to pay for some extended medical troubles he's had. He's had chronic issues and lifetime troubles that have really crippled his career opportunities, and he's trying to get enough funding to get back to a stable medical situation. If you like his content, please support his GoFundMe, or even just contribute to his Patreon.

    He can really use a hand with this, and any support you can offer is appreciated.

    No, the blood is something the plums is telling what to do. Shinra doesn't tell Sephiroth to block Meteor. That can't be right. Also, the way the question is structured, you have to try to be able to come up with something metaphorical, like the rest of the riddle. Am I right, PA?

    I'm trying to ignore the nouns in the riddle, and trying to see if the actions are familiar. I'm also thinking about what could be comprised of five elements. One thing I can think of is the Pagoda, but I can't think of a way to apply the riddle there.

    Maybe you could tell us if we're getting closer to solving the riddle? Anybody come close?

    Skyblade used impressive thinking, but sadly not right. Weimar, very good logic, and getting very close to answering this, however you seem to have assumed a link between the instructions of the plums and the blood which isn't there. I may have been misleading in a clue somewhere in that respect, so if I was I apologise.

    As for the form of the answer, that should be fairly clear once you work out what it is. I don't have anything specific in mind.

    EDIT: If you are going to use the entire riddle, I should make two warnings. One is that there is a twist that I put in to make it harder to solve. Two is that you have to assume something about the plums, which might be less obvious than for the other nouns.

    I say what I think. If you disagree, then that is up to you.

    Might the "plums" be referring to purple materia?

    oooo, that's a good idea, Hal. Let me use that suggestion.

    The blood called forth the gods, which then appeared.

    Ooooh, almost there. Keep going, and bear in mind, I wouldn't make it quite that simple .

    Did they summon Holy?

    How do I keep going? Try again with something different?

    I wonder what the twist could be. I mean, the materia theory works.

    Sun=yellow materia
    Grass=green materia
    Sea=blue materia
    plums=purple materia
    blood=summon materia

    Do I have to come up with something else for the blood to do? All we have to do is figure out what every line's counterparts are in the game, then change what blood's counterpart does to a metaphor that fits the rest of the riddle, right?

    Let me go back to Midgar then.

    The Shinra Bldg. is the sun, due to its location in Midgar and due to it working.

    The people in the slums of Midgar call for the aid of the gods, or Shinra.

    The sea is Avalanche. The sea comes from what an avalanche is. The coldness comes from it being snow and maybe b/c Cloud is a member; the hotness coming from Barret (short temper) or Jesse (she's hot, okay j/k). It heals the earth by blowing up reactors and stopping Sephiroth.

    Plumszzzz....... hmmmm. The Turks are kinda bossy.

    The blood is Mako. Possible answers due to this logic:
    A) The blood gave life to the sea.
    B) The blood came out of the planet, causing it to gradually die.

    EDIT: Hal, I think you have to be more metaphorical.

    I thought maybe you were wasting time with going over a wrong answer again, but nobody's called the blood Red XIII. I think you need to be more metaphorical, though.

    Aaargh, so close, and now going in totally the wrong way. Weimar don't go back on what you've got, but actually try and get the whole riddle working. I said there was a catch and there is, work out what it is and you've finished.

    I say what I think. If you disagree, then that is up to you.
