    Default ePSXe problem

Okay I just got ePSXe so I could play FF on my PC, and it's supposed to play FFVII. It works okay, but I've only got as far as the intro because for some reason it goes REALLY slowly and I can't be bothered to wait through the whole thing. Any suggestions as to why this problem's happening/how to fix it?

EDIT: Okay I got through the intro, but the ingame is now really fast, and buggy . (The intro's still a problem).

What video plugin are you using? I'd recommend doing a google search for "Pete's plugins" and use the OpenGL on his home page (you'll know it's his page because there's all a huge list of plugins for sound/video/CD for epsxe ). Might want to grab his CD plugin too, both should be labelled Pe.Op.S, I think. See if that helps before you fiddle with the settings in the plugins

I believe the fix is only for the battle swirl and the menus in battle - unless you have a really old plug-in and version of epsxe or something

The plugin I got was gpuPeteOpenGL2.dll, I don't think it's the recommended one but it's all I could find. The site looks down at the minute, so can you give me a link to the file elsewhere? Thanks for the help.

The one labelled PSX GPU OGL/D3D driver or Pete's Windows PSX GPUs for the graphics, not the OpenGL2 one.

I might be able to help this guy out when I get hom and look at my system's ePSXe configs because mine plays FFVII without any problems.

Thanks for the link. I got that file which had three different plugins, none of which helped. I tried FFVIII which seems to run fine apart from being really fast and having flashy black boxes around text in battles.

Set max FPS to 60 and it should not go too fast.

Okay thanks for all the advice everyone, unfortunately none of it seems to be working . Anyone know what I can do to fix this? It seems odd for VII videos to go slow, and VIII to go fast so I don't think it's just a settings thing, but I dunno.

What version of epsxe are you using? The latest (1.6.0) I find has speed issues with some games anyway, so you might want to try something older like 1.5.2.

Sadly it's 1.5.2, I got my hopes up there.
