Record it as raw WAV and encode it to MP3 yourself afterwards. It's not hard. CDEX is a good program for that.

    oh yeah, besweet

    http://dspguru.notrace.dk/BeSweetv1.4.zip
    http://dspguru.notrace.dk/BeSweetGUIv0.6.zip

Unzip them both in separate dirs. Go to the GUI dir and set up the BeSweet.exe file (tell it where it is). Then simply choose the wave file, and choose wav->mp3. It should give you a command line you can either copy/paste to the command prompt or just click something.

I think I just made it sound very complicated. If you want to use my program, I can guide you through it when I get home.

    I personally use musicmatch.

edit: omgwtf you need all sorts of files. Where the heck is lame.exe (for mp3)?

-_- nm what I said there.

acoustica mp3 to wave converter is pretty good an simple to use

    http://www.acoustica.com

once its installed all you need to do is right click an a wave or mp3 file and u will notice you have 2 new options on right click menu (convert to mp3 or convert to wave)

you could use creative recorder to record your mic though u might need a creative soundcard to use it (not sure)
