Thank God. I'm sick of it. Tidus and Yuna were apparently thrown together just for the sake of a love story between the two main characters.

Yeah I'll probaly miss it but Squenix is trying to do something different to try to keep the FF series going so people won't find the series repitive and ditch it they're also trying to open up to other auidences I guess those who despise love stories.

hmm. it will be interesting to see what kind of stuff they'll put in instead of that then. in FF8, and 10, there was a lot of dialogue that had to do with love, and 10-2, well....heh. so maybe we'll get to see more of the other characters because of this. ah, who knows-i'm ready to find ut already!

I personaly think they should keep the love story, that is what makes Final Fantasy what it is. But on the other hand maybe they dont want everyone to think all final fantasy games are the same so they threw in a few twists. I know i will always stay true to FF even if it goes sour.

    I agree.

Well...it probably won't include Ashe, unless Vaan cheats on Pannelo or something... :/

There's also that nameless-guy who Ashe appears to be marrying. Or at least it looks like it. I'll shoot myself if that's actually her brother.

EDIT: Christ, I need ot work on my typing-too-fast problem.

true. there was no romance in ffI-3, or ffV. Romance is not essential.

firstly, let me re-iterate, im a straight guy. secondly, i hope that there is a love story. obviously if the love story is done in a ridiculous way, (FFVIII) then it will spoil everything. but if its done right, (IX) it can enhance the level of interest in the story. it does for me anyway. i will miss the love aspect of it if its not put in

I agree with kikimm. In the trailers, Ashe seems to be standing next to that blonde guy. She looks like she's wearing a wedding dress, and it even begins with bells ringing. As far as I'm concerned: white dress with veil + bells ringing = wedding.

When they mention this no love thing, though, this was when all we really knew about was Vaan and Ashe. I doubt there will be a love story between them, but there's going to be something between Panelo and Vaan.

i believe i read in game informer that square said there would be a love story, it just wouldn't as drawn out as ffvii-x. the real focus would be on the war-plot.

personally, almost all ff's i've played have everything:romance, betrayal, action, humor, and most of all brain-teasers. just because you limit the romance doesn't mean its not gonna be a good love story....just primitive maybe. :rolleyes2

i think it'll help explain the plot a lot more, so i say we wait and find out.

THANK GOODNESS.....no love story....i gotta admit....it was getting abit tired and boring....that way it can actually focus on the story...imean the only ff that successfully made a love story fused with the "big picture story line" was ff7 and 8 more so 7....so yea my opinion anyway....it was begining to get cheesy.....*cough*ff10.....9 was fun.....imean who could forget Zidanes groping (sp?) scene lol....but yea im glad the lights will be on the big story and hopefully more on the characters!

btw im not sure if 11 has a love story cause i havent played it so im stayin away from making judgements on 11!

i don't think the love story of FFX was cheesy. i mean, it might have been not a mature love story considering that both Yuna and Tidus aren't even adults. but the fact that Tidus would sacrifice himself(making himself "passover" by killing Sin and the Dream) just so Yuna can live wasn't really cheesy imho. what about the ending?what about that one scene where Tidus finds out Yuna's (SPOILER)gonna die?

the first time i played FFIX i thot the love story was mediocre, but looking back on it, i really really enjoyed it. i liked the fact that zidane went through that whole "how can i tell her" phase when she becomes queen

FFXII will suffer from the lack of a love story, but it's more detailed plot should make up for it

Um... FFXI is online, but you can marry other players, so, uh, maybe that counts?

As others have mentioned, Final Fantasy titles that have focused on the relationship between two main characters (i.e. FFVIII and FFX) have turned out to develope only those two main characters. The others take back seat as supporting roles. I like to see a game where all- or most- of the characters have their own spot in the plot that makes them important.

Personally, I find a good story about war a lot more interesting than something that's about the romance of hormone driven teenagers.
