    As for the constant linux babble, I might as well ask it here:

    How do I find out whether a distro of linux supports my motherboard (which has a built-in network card)? Specifically it's an ASUS P4S800 board. I think the rest of my hardware is linux supported (Radeon 7500 series video card..and that's it).

    Yeah, so my biggest concern is whether the network card is supported.

    Oh, and as for the concept of dual booting, I can (grudgingly) install over windows XP and then install windows XP as a dual boot (or is it better to install linux over and existing windows?)

    I should go about downloading gentoo just for fun *goes*

    <div style="text-align: justify;">It's generally easier/better to install Linux second and not Windows if you're gonna dual-boot due to how each supports booting into the other and how they change the boot record </div>
