Marle's Pendant (Possible Spoilers)

I'm confused about Marle's pendant. I mean, in the PS1 version of Chrono Trigger, you can see Marle's pendant in one of the FMV pictures, and you can see that its color is blue, but since Marle's pendant looks exatcly like Schala's pedant, and they say that Schala's pendant was made from the same red rock as the Mammon Machine. Why, then, was the pendant blue and not red?

I can't think of any definitive answer other than that perhaps the FMVs are not meant to be taken completely literally. In fact, this goes for Chrono Cross as well; Serge is depicted as having purple eyes in his portrait, and Dark Serge as having red eyes; they both have blue eyes in the FMVs.

Not to mention that, in the FMVs, the pendant is round, while in the game it seemd to have an edit: teardrop shape to it.

I think the reason that it is blue is because it is "powered up". Even before you power Marle's up at the mammon machine, it apparently had some power because Lucca's machine must have done someting to make it react, and so forth. I could be wrong, but that's just my guess.
