Oh my... either storyline, music, or characters for me.
This is just something I probably can't decide on, since I love all three.
But if I were forced to choose, I'd go with music.

Story or music. Everything else is is irrelevant in my opinion. And the characters are part of the storyline to me.

Storyline. FFs always have the best storylines. Then again, I'm eaisly impressed, as I liked FFMQ's plot and FFTA's plot. You may shoot me now.

I didn't add gameplay because it would kinda make it a one-horse race. Guess i should've now, judging on the amount of votes for storyline....
Characters... When the characters are memorable, and I can connect with them, the game is a sure winner, no matter how much the gameplay or magic system blows.
