The FAQ for this forum has a list of which games have been released under the wrong name in America. http://forums.eyesonff.com/showthrea...threadid=43493

Your list is right, though you're forgetting Tactics, Tactics Advance, Mystic Quest, Adventure I, II, and III (I'm pretty sure there's 3, someone will correct me if not).

Then there's the movie and the two Final Fantasy anime series.

Adventure doesn't count seeing as it was only given the name Final Fantasy because Square thought it would sell better over here if they did that. Same thing for Legends 1, 2, and 3. Adventure was really just part of the Seiken Densetsu series (Mana series) and Legends 1, 2, and 3 are part of the SaGa series.

I always mix those up, but then if I dont list em, someone will correct me. I knew about the whole non-FF deal though.

Yes, and just to make things slightly easier to keep track of, the movie is called "Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within", and the two anime series are "Final Fantasy: Legend of the Crystals" (available in the US via Urban Vision) and "Final Fantasy Unlimited", which may or may not have been released in the US. There's also Advent Children which hasn't been released yet and Crystal Chronicals, which I should really go buy right now.

    So...

    Final Fantasy
    I
    II
    III
    IV
    V
    VI
    VII
    VIII
    IX
    X
    X-2
    XI
    XII
    Mystic Quest
    Tactics
    Tactics Advance
    Crystal Chronicles
    The Spirits Within (movie)
    Advent Children (movie
The Legend of the Crystals (anime)
    Unlimited (anime)

So that should be the correct list, Japan wise. America's is waaaay more complicated.

Unfortunately, America's is the same, only we never got FF4 Easytype (oh darn) or FF3. We DID get Mystic Quest though. Add that to your list.

America's isnt the same exactly, because of the name differences. And we did get IV Easytype, it was released as II for the SNES.

No that's not easy type. True when we got it for SNES it was easier, but not easy type. Easy type was quite obviously different. Such as right before Cognazzo (water fiend) you get a sword that does extra damage to water type enemies. As well as Zeromus got a major makeover in how he looks. There were many other differences, but I can't recall them all.

But ya we never got easy type, just a dumbed down normal one made to be easy, but harder then easy type.

Well I did not know that. I'll have to change the forum FAQ now. Turd.

    Better verify that first, though.

I would give you the site where I saw the differences but I lost it a while ago. I believe I did see it here though, in the FFI-IV forum a while back.
