Default Arrrgh! Can't find many good love songs anymore!

Can anyone help me out?! It seems that there's quite an abundance of love songs from the whole Celine Dion/Barbara Streisand scene (no offense to those who like them, they're just not my style), but not too many from the alternative scene anymore. It seems like the only new ballads are about those who are jaded by love or mad at or about their parents/childhood etc... I'm trying to make a good mix tape for my gf, but can't find a whole lot that I haven't already used on the last two. Any suggestions? PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE help me if you can think of anything!

    Thanks in advance!

"Amazed" by Lonestar. That's a good love song. If you're into the country music scene.

Oh, "Amazed" is pretty! I've never thought about it as country-ish, though.

I don't know about new love songs, but I'll mention some older ones:

Seal - "Kiss From a Rose"
Meat Loaf - "I'd Do Anything For Love"
    Extreme - "More Than Words"
Pretenders - "I'll Stand By You"
    Mr. Mister - "Broken Wings"

    Mostly rock-ballad-love-songs. Pure therapy

Reason - "Amazed" is a very-much country song. It's written by a country band, and performed by a country band, and IS a country song. It was simply so wonderful that it expanded to be in the "Pop" genre.

EDIT: Never mind, it won't upload.

Meat Loaf - "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights." More funny than romantic, though.

yes, amazed is a good song, trouble is, my girlfriend can't stand it. I'm talking about songs like U2's One, Led Zeppelin's Thank You, or Everclear's Good Witch of the North, that type of thing. Although, I think I may have exhausted that genre's love songs with just two cds *sigh*.

WHAT? You gotta break up with her. If she doesn't like Amazed, then she doesn't deserve to be with anyone.

whoa! A bit touchy, aren't we? Jeez, for someone who attacked every other genre besides country in that misheard lyrics post, you're quite defensive!

I wheel this song out every time love songs get mentioned. With good reason.

One of my favourites is "Beautiful Freak" by the Eels. She might find it offensive though so be careful xD But it's good as it says how this person loves the other person because they are "not like the others" and another lyric is "some people think you have a problem, but that problem lies only with them". I think it's really nice for saying you like someone for who they are.

I like "Everlong" by the Foo Fighters too, although you may not call it a love song, "breathe out so I can breathe you in" is pretty romantic though. And Snow Patrol's "Run" is a nice song especially if you're not always with that person =) I like unconventional "love" songs rather than really obvious ones
