Underwater rivers exist. There's a huge network of underwater channels connecting from the sea to Lake Pupuke, which is in Takapuna, Auckland, New Zealand.

They also have yet to accurately measure the depth of that lake, because there are so many deep trenches running throughout the lakebed.

There are plenty of fish in Lake Pupuke.
