Default To disable or not to disable. That is the question.

    Disable HTML, yay or nay?

In fact, the more I think about, the more sense it will make to disable HTML here. I know we have some of the HTML scripts screwed up, but I think we should have HTML disabled entirely here at EoFF. It'll prevent people from "hacking" EoFF with their HTML scripts, and it's really not too necessary. But that's just my opinion. Most of the html used already have a vb code assigned, and we have other neat vb only codes, like the spoiler and ooc tag.

I'll include a poll to see what the majorty think. But if you want to add an opinion about why HTML should be kept or removed, I'm not stopping you from replying.

Apparently, I have been declared banished.

I like that EoFF is like the only big community on the internet that has HTML enabled. We have seen very few problems with people abusing it. And we can always ban PG if he uses it too much. I say keep it. Plus you can't use the img vB code to link from attachments into the thread.

I've never used HTML. vB Code is easier to understand, too. I don't see a need for it. Atleast to me.

Please keep it, I have never once used vb code. I use <b></b> and <a href=" and <img src=" for everything and disabling it would surely screw me up. I think the vb image tag sucks, personally.

If we ever have a problem with people abusing HTML, then we can turn it off. We never have though.

It's fine the way it is. It's pretty easy to disable everything that could potentially mess things up anyway. And if there's a massive problem, it only takes a few clicks in the admin control panel to prune all a user's posts.

Carpie: There was that one time when RPGW tried to invade EoFF and they included an auto-loader to that "You Are An Idiot" script that only messes up IE. That was a pretty laughably pathetic attempt though, especially since no one in their right mind would use IE.

Leave it. Any potentially troublesome tags are in the swear filter anyway, like marquee, script, blink, iframe etc.

I've pretty much only ever used HTML code here. You never see large boards with it enabled these days. But keep it for the sake of <font style="...">

I think you should keep HTML but disable the HTML tags that are known to cause problems.

Just to add to the parade, i do like HTML. And from what i've seen, people are pretty respectful of that freedom.

But i will admit, i don't think it'd be the end of the world to disable it.
