What did Vincent mean when he was saying this quote:

"Hojo... what a queer fellow. Such utter lack of scientific knowledge... compared to the genuis of Dr. Gast...... Lucericia chose him trying to protect him... Now I understand... I understand but.."

Ha! I'm at the exact same point as that quote right now...

"Hojo" to "Gast..." is understandable to you, I hope.

"Lucrecia chose him trying to protect him..." I'd remove the first 'him' or add a comma after the first 'him, to make it more intelligible. Or, replace the first 'him' with "Hojo" and the second with "Sephiroth". In fact, I think the latter is right.

"Now I understand..." yeah, straightforward.
