Thread: FF7 Graphics Bug

    Default FF7 Graphics Bug

I looked around and so far not found anything talking about this effect so I thought I'd post here.

Ok first off a screenshot of the problem: http://www.stargatemods.com/misc/blackbits.jpg

As you can see, where there should be transparency there is instead blackness; this happens on virtually every single screen where you can walk behind the textures.

I'm on XP Pro (SP1), and have a Geforce FX 5200 with the 56.64 drivers. All is working well (even got the soundfonts loaded into the NForce control panel...oh yeah Abit NForce2 motherboard) but this is the last bug (for now) and it's bloody annoying!

    Hope someone can help

Theres an XP patch for FFVII on PC. That may sort it out.

Most graphical problems folks have with FF7 on PC anymore involve outdated architecture. FF7 is an ancient game by modern graphical standards, full of things that newer graphics cards just don't bother to support anymore. What this means for you is that there isn't much you can do about it. Again, though, i'm just guessing.

Go to http://ficedula.cjb.net/ and download the "Cetra" utility. Run it, activate "Debug" mode, and then run FF7. It'll create a file called "app.log" in your FF7 directory, and that file might tell you what specifically is going wrong. i don't know much about the program itself, because i don't have FF7 for PC and thus can't check it out. But it's the best i can give you for now.
