Sorry to say, but your post did seem a bit condescending. I personally have many intelligent friends attending community college. Don't see it as a wasted degree, see it as a stepping stone towards something better, that is if you don't already.

The tape recording idea is a bad one, you can be sued over that in a number of ways including invasion of privacy and compromising the confidentiality of a classroom.
