Default I've had this big question that has been bugging me and I don't know why I don't know

I've beaten the game many times and have gotten every secret character and everything. But I still don't understand what the calculator does. Personaly I think they are useless and don't do anything for the good so can anyone tell me what they do that is good.

The calculator allows you to cast any spell you've learned from any job on anyone on the screen, provided they meet the guidelines you choose. For example, if you used Math Skill and slected 'Level', '3', and 'Holy', all people on screen with a level multiple of three will be hit with the holy spell (including your players if applicable). The greatness of it is that it does not take charge time or mp to use these spells, so if you play your calculation right you can do some real damage on the enemy from a far distance, and, like quick reply, get immediate results.

The only downsides are that they're incredibly slow, and it takes a while to learn all the Math skills.

Amen to that. If you have the time and patience, then they can be useful, but frankly, I never used one.

    Take care all.

The real prize of the Calculator class is the Math Skill ability itself. While characters in the Calculator class have horrible stats, equipping Math Skill as a secondary skill in other classes works great. In fact it's my secondary skill of choice in Chapter 4.

Math skill is actually good on a Wizard or Summoner since they have high magic and can equip faith rods and wizard rods. The job itself is kinda crummy though (sooo slow).

Yes, Math Skill beats out even All Swordskill as the best skill in the game for me.

I agree that math skill is the best secondary class for your magic users. I like to use it to stop enemies on prime-number heights, then put them to sleep for a long time while I steal or search the board. :evilking: As long as you keep them on that height (don'tmove, sleep, stop) you can continue to bomb them with status-effect spells. It's also useful for 'degenerating' your characters to low level so you can build them up again (this time as a wizard, monk, or other high-attribute class). Go to Zeklaus Desert and kill all but one enemy. Then position the enemy and all but one of your char.s (calculator with Teleport) on (height) prime numbers or 4's. Put them to sleep. Now degenerate your character while everyone else sleeps. I think you can try teleporting across the board (and fail...oops I landed on degenerator, again) up to 3 or 4 times before you have to cast math-skill 'sleep' again. Repeat ad nauseum...
