Inhuman characters

well, bringing back this thread b4ecause it was starting to go somewhere lol.

while the inhuman characters lacked the detailed backgrounds and interaction of most human characters, they still shone through.

i would love to have a totally animalistic main character, a giant FF gorilla (like in tranformers beastwars/machines), heck i would love an inhuman main cast.

I like FFs with non-human races in it. I think the whole elves and dwarves thing has been done to death so all these other races (especially Viera) are a nice (and often very very cute) addition.

Giant FF gorilla? Maybe in the ad campaigns

yeah zidane WASNNT human, but he was almost human....lets face it he was a little smaller and had a monky tail....whoopy lol. no i mean really inhuman like Red was. recently when mattel commistiond a re-design of all it's Masters of the Universe characters, the most inhuman people like BuzzOff (a Beeman) really looked awsome and even cooler than anything human.

im not saying i want quina....but anyone whos watched beastwars/machines will know how cool a giant talking gorilla can be with the ability to summon itself into a darkknight like odin.

Anyay, back on topic again:

As I said (wrote?) before the server change, I like non-human characters as long as they're non-human in behavior too. FFIX didn't do this too well. Even though both Zidane and Freya is non-humans, I just felt they were humans in disguise.

Red XIII and the Ronso, on the other hand, are great examples on how non-humans, should be done. (Quina too, even though I didn't like him, except for his Blue Magic.)

And if they look like Neko Girls, I wouldn't mind at all...

Though not an FF, Xenogears included a lot of great demi-human characters, like Rico, Hammer, Franz, and the Captain of the Thames (because... I AM! A MAN! OF THE SEA!!!)

i think a world of catpeople would become as dull as a world of humans..even if they are naked lol.

zidane and freya were very human...but since freya travelled amongst the humans alot it didnt bother me, at least she WAS distinctly differnt. Kimahri was also very human. we have to understand that the workings of the japanese are so differnt from almost ANY nationality on earth that you could be mistaken for thinking thye are not human but living dolls. man has many variations but each allows for them to still be classed as mankind..well today anyway, not long ago this provided the excuse for slavery throughout history which currently we still exert on our brothers - animals.
The thing is that all the pixar movies have proven our current ability to relate to inhuman guises and shapes...so why does the hero always have to be human and mostly male.

i guess the mostly male comes from japans messed up system. after all the ancient celts over here were most oftenly ruled by women...women make the best fighters because they can be more focused, cruel and precise. despite their character flaws all the women we have trained in swordfighting have been the better fighters...but often all we get from FF is a giggling mess lol

I think they add a nice variety. A whole slew of humans is boring in a fantasy game.

I wouldn't call it diversity if they don't actually exist... and the "naked" part hurts your "appreciation" statement's credibility.
