WHAT HAPPENED TO TIDUS?!?!?!?!?!

Sorry, but I really want to know. I'm quite far into the game, but not far enough to now where Tidus went, etc etc. Could some-one, ANY-ONE, please tell me!?

Also, the guy in the sphere (the one at the beginning that Yuna shows Lulu, with that guy in, supposedly Tidus-), is he actually Tidus, or that Shuin character (you know, as a red herring)?

Help would be MUCH appreciated!
