Newbie Question

Hey you guys I just started playing and I was wondering how to do propositions. I am currently in chapter 3 have selected the one at Dorter with the thieves. So I set the time limit for 13 days and now I don't know what to do. Am I supposed to just wait or do I have to do something else paticular to activate the mission? Also I can't continue with the story battles because I have assigned all best units to the propostion. Help

A day is walking from one spot on the map to another. To pass through 13 days you must walk over 13 locations on the map. Then return to that town and claim your person from the pub.

so do I have to plan to get back on the exact day or can I pick up the reward any time?

once they get back you can get them anytime. I don't think there is a time limit to pick them up.

I think the longer you wait, the lower chances that your mission suceeded.

What's handy later in the game is when you have two adjacent towns. You can move back and forth between them without random encounters.

changing the subject, who does your party consist of? I want to have room for all the special characters except rafa and malak. Currently I have 6 generics and all the special characters up to the second fight in chapter 4. Also who starts with the lower brave rafa or beowulf?

A Monster from Deep Dungeon (Byblos I think)

That's 12 in all, 10 if you leave out Rafa and Malak.

That gives you between 4 and 6 empty slots for monsters/generic characters.

I count Boco as a monster/generic character. Truth be told, I didn't keep Boco after breeding better chocobos.

That isn't TOO n00bish... I didn't find out until chapter 4.

But a better idea than going 13 spaces away is just to go 7 spaces away, then come all the way back to the town. That way you don't have to be in many battles, and your characters are beefed. (Yeah right, propositions aren't that good..)
