Yeah, I think that is messed up. The ol' lady might die soon, and they jail her over a parking ticket. :\

What? If I messed up with a registration sticker, I'd get a ticket. How is it uncalled for, just because she's old and about to kick the bucket?

I think we all know what the real issue here is: Why in the hell is a 97-year-old woman driving a car? Screw expired registration, she should be booked for attempted murder.

Don't make me put you in a home old man.

You already put me in a home!

Well, I'll put you in one of those crooked ones we saw on 60 Minutes.

The real issue here, in my opinion, is why does the state of Texas put you in jail for expired registration? That is a bit extreme if you ask me. A fine I can see.

Really. That is the most insane thing I've heard today.

I agree, but I guess the old lady could have stolen the car.

Wow, if we were the law of the land, she'd probably get the death penalty...

She's attempted murder, grand theft auto, AND has expired registration.

On top of that, if they're using it as a scare tactic to get her to pay her fine... I think they should have been more worried about her having a heart attack than not paying up.

Apparently, the saying is still true: "Don't mess with Texas, especially if you don't update your car registration!"

    Take care all.

My flatmate said he went to Texas and then the sheriff came out with his shotgun and told them to quote "Get the out of here."

Overall he said it was a friendly place.

Well not many officers of the law are kind enough to show you their shotgun. Up close.

Yeah, I agree with the "what the hell is a 97 yr old woman doing on the road" crowd.

And I also agree that she deserves the same treatment as everyone else reguardless of her age, but...damn thats insanity. I like parts of Texas (certain parts), but because of things like that I could never live there. I'm too scared, also that their government will kill me for dressing a certain way.

They probably just wanted the money because she'd be dead soon and they wouldn't want her getting off just because she's dead
