Thread: The Bang Bang song in Kill Bill Vol. 1

Default The Bang Bang song in Kill Bill Vol. 1

For those who have seen Kill Bill 1, the intro song is apparently by Nancy Sinatra ("Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)"), and although the voice sounds like hers, the accompanying music sounds like nothing she would ever do. Is this a remixed version or something? If so, what does the original sound like? Anyone know?

    Yeah, I do.

It's called 'Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood' by Santa Esmeralda.

I love Bang Bang, I downloaded the soundtrack specifically for that song.

Turns out the music was written by Sonny Bono. Perhaps just for this movie.

The soundtrack overall is really great. Q's got a good ear for accompanying music. The Santa Esmeralda song makes that scene feel like a boss fight from Megaman X. (A good thing.)

Some other tracks on there that are awesome:
Luis Bacalov - Il Grande Duele (Parte Prima) (O'Ren's history in anime)
Bernard Herrmann - Twisted Nerve (Elle's whistling)
Tomoyasu Hotei - Battle without Honor or Humanity (Crazy 88's entrance in the dance club)
Quincy Jones - Ironside (The "I'm about to kick your ass" music)
Meiko Kaji - Flower of Carnage ((SPOILER)O'Ren dying)
