That's exactly why it's so incredibly satisfying when the party finally finally gets the upper hand on him by disabling the Giant of Babel, and not only does he get upset, he shrieks, "YOU WRETCH! You are all DEAD!"

Aye, that scene was incredibly arse-kicking. FFIV's story is unrivaled in scope, I feel, by anything that followed after.

Just amazing. They really dealt well with his story.

3. Gafgarion
Best ever betrayal. His trading of rhetoric with Ramza in the battles they fight against each other is the most brilliant scripting in RPG history.

4. Golbez / Zemus / Zeromus
I throw these all together because Golbez, through the most part, was just Zemus speaking through a puppet. And of course, you know the rest. Great stuff.

I love Zande's story. Poor guy didn't know what he had.

Gotta go with you there, Zande rocked. His place at #6 on my list is slightly misleading, since I think they're all good except the last 3. Also that my list only included the key villians from each game; inclusive of all of them, replace Sephiroth with Hojo. I hated that guy.
