It managed to get two funny moments into each frame. Garland being teached how to be evil, and BM stabbing and Hadooking Fighter.

The whole "Dungeon Cam" sequence was just classic 8-bit. Good Stuff. I'm sorely tempted to donate some moola to ole' Brian to keep this thing up and running. Hey, it never hurts to give, right?
    No profanity in sigs please.
Sigh. What profanity? I quoted Sephex's post from Eyes on Each Other from about a year ago, and any "profanity" in his post was either **** or ***** anyway. Whatever. And you wonder why forum traffic is way down.

I dunno. The whole "Evil Princess Sara" bit deviates a little too much from FFI's plot for me to like, as does the fact that the Light Warriors that entertain us so aren't even the real Light Warriors.

Umm... 8-bit isn't suppossed to be the plot of FF1. It started out as just BM and Fighter in a forest, personally I think that was the best part.
If history is to be changed, let it change. If the world is to be destroyed, so be it. If it is my fate to be destroyed... I must simply laugh.

With the kids becoming Light Warriors and going to defeat Garland, it's quite obvious that Brian is making an effort to follow FFI's plot. I don't think he's doing so well, that's all.

I think you're taking it too literally. I read somewhere, or maybe it was that interview he did a while back, that Brian called it "8-Bit Theater" so that it wouldn't have an Final Fantasy title because he didn't really think of it as a Final Fantasy comic. It's just a comic that happens to use the Final Fantasy sprites because he found them one day.

and, to quote Brian from his very own FAQ...

Q: is it going to follow the original final fantasy storyline, and if so to what degree?
A: i think it's going to take place in basically the same kind of world as FF1 itself. and it will follow the storyline, insofar as there is one ("good guys, go beat the bad guy!"), but you'll only see the original story as being way in the background.

Red Mage: Did you see that?!

Black Mage: Garland is so hideously evil that he can afford to be nice to us before he kills us!

Fighter: He must be so powerful that not even the shiniest swords could save us now!

And Evil Princess Sara was worried that he would screw up. Sometimes I have to wonder, who is more incompitent, Garland or our heroes?
It was tough work, carrying two hundred and twenty pounds of sociopath to the top of Gotham Towers~~ The hightest spot in the city. The scream alone is worth it.- Batman, The Dark Knight Returns.

Heheeheee.. that was what I liked with Ep109. The two incompetent "groups" meeting for the first time. I used to wonder what Garland would have said to our heroes when they would first meet. I thought he would just welcome them in. Instead he offers them cookies and drinks. Now I'm wondering how Evil Princess Sara is going to destroy our heroes.

I think that Garland will refuse to let her harm them... she'll have to kill them behind his back ^-^

Ahh, yes, always good for a chuckle.

Well, I suppose Red Mage's plan could be worse. Thouhg it wouldn't hurt him to actually join in the fighting, either with his own sword, or magic. Still, while that plan may get them past Garland, they'll still have Evil Princess Sara to deal with.

    Grin Yay!

Does this mean they won't kill off Garland? Yay! Garland's funny.

I just read episode 112. I found myself going, "Oh no, poor Garland... " I wonder if BM is really going to fry him.
