What is "cool"?

You hear people call a lot of things and people cool, but what exactly is "cool"?

What makes something or someone "cool" to you?

Seriously though, cool is just a stereotype we use to show status. It's tough to really say what "cool" is. I'd say it's a metaphor for someone who is confident being themselves.

I actually don't say cool anymore.... I usually say like neat-o or awesome or something like that. Hmmm.. actually, I say sweet a lot for some reason now.

Do people still say "Cool?" I haven't heard that one for a long time.

As far as I'm concerned, if the temperature is slightly colder than normal, it's cool. I've never used that word to describe something that I might consider impressive or amazing. I certainly wouldn't use it to describe any of my human colleagues, either.

"Yowza" or "Phat" are appropriate substitutes for "Cool".

I say 'That's cool' or 'I'm cool' a lot to mean 'No, thank you'.
