Ok, so I look at this topic, see the wind waker haters, and get very annoyed.
Ready to complain all the usual, y'know and then.

Ahem, Lindz. I didn't hate Wind Waker because of the graphics - I loved the graphics. I hated it because it was unbelievably dull, I had no desire to continue playing due to the non-existent plot, and the neverending sailing sections drove me insane with boredom.
Hopefully, this new Zelda will have none of those problems.

Edit: I watched the trailer and, like Wind Waker, as great as it looks in screenshots, it looks a million times better in motion. The music is amazing as well, of course, and even the expected metal-on-metal sound effects are impressive.
I will buy a gamecube JUST for this game.

Basically because I haven't played a truly good Zelda game since A Link to the Past and Link's Awakening. I've pretty much lost hope in the Zelda series.
To hell with Battletoads and Double Dragon.

After playing baulder's gate countless times, Wind Wakers exploration seemed very interesting. all Wind Waker haters must hate all Baulders gate games. I loved the Cel-shaded graphics it was new and it fit the games GREAT story, but this new game will be the best one yet i believe the detail on links character is just awesome, especially his chainmail under the tunic.
The Hero of Time Returns! This is the best look for Link ever! He really looks like a warrior this time around.

You should look into The Oracles series on GBA and possible Four Swords Adventure as they play similar to LttP and LA.

Wind Waker didn't strike me as a bad game (despite the graphics which were painful to look at) I just never got around to it. This game does look rather good, and I'm happy that they FINALLY are coming out with a Zelda game that DOESN'T use young Link.
holy crap... I almost forgot about those games. I had a blast playing those two, I highly recommend those.
