Default n00bish question: On the Rareness of FF: Anthology

Please, spare your flames! I only wish to ask a simple question! *bends down in supplication to the multitudes of rabid FF fanboys that surround him*

My SNES is lost to me forever, as is my collection of games. Among them was my brother's beloved copy of Final Fantasy III (which I regretfully never got to play), better known now as FFVI. In an effort to bolster my VG-nerd credibility, I MUST get my hands on a copy of FF: Anthology for my Playstation!

Now, the only problem is finding it: How rare is FF: Anthology? Would I be able to find it with ease? I'm trusting your guys' greater wisdom on this...I know I could probably call the nearby GameStop to find out, but I'm waaay the hell too lazy.

I don't want any shoddy PC emulation of the game...it isn't the same playing something on the PC that was meant for the console. I'll only resort to that if it is my only alternative. So please answer the poor n00b, and keep your finger off your flamethrower trigger.

    Uh... yes...

Ahem, onto the question at hand. I bought my copy of Anthologies when it first came out, so I don't know if it's still stocked on shelves anywhere. Try looking around for it, it may not be at places like Target or Walmart, but places like EB Games and other like stores should have it if not. It was a Greatest Hits, so it should still be around.

If you cant find it new, trying looking for it on EBay or in used game stores. I highly recommend Game Stop (www.gamestop.com), they have a great selection and they've been very good to me in the past.

I've been looking for it for awhile myself, and have thus far come up empty handed. I believe you just need to search as many game shops as possible, you'll find it eventually. Maybe.

I've always seen it at most mall-type video game stores like Babbages, Game Stop, Electronics Boutique, etc...

I recall hearing that this game will be rereleased as a Greatest Hits at some point in the future. I will attempt to find a news story that supports this.

EDIT: http://www.rpgamer.com/news/Q4-2003/110503b.html Wow it was a while ago. It's all sold out already?

Go to game stop that's where I got mines at. The only thing I can stand about the game is that it takes about 20 seconds for the menu to load.

Yes, the manu and fight screens take a long time to load. However, I believe this can be solved by getting a PS2 and turning on fast load every time you turn on the power.

Yupper. Go to the system settings before inserting the cd and you can set the CD to fast load.

I was at Best Buy the other day, they had 4-5 copies each of both FFC and FFA. They can't be THAT rare.

I always play both the Anthology games on my PS2 with the CD speed set on fast, and it still runs quite slow for me. Could be my PS2 though, it might die at any moment it seems. As for the game, I got mine at EB in the Mall of America.
