I've never heard of this story, and the link you posted was just to a forums and not an actual newsbit. Frankly this story sounds fake, but if another moderator feels otherwise, feel free to open this back up.

A few people have died because of online RPGs; Ragnarok Online and that other really popular one I can't recall right now. Most of the cases I've heard of concern people who died from heart failure/exhaustion after playing for 40-odd hours without a break.
