Thread: Keep or let go?

    Default Keep or let go?

Who do you generally get rid of, excluding the "commoners." I, personally, try to keep all the "special" characters. I don't know why, but I just have to keep the "one of a kind"s. This does pose a problem when trying to breed monsters though, since there's a total of 16 "special"s (including the three you get at the beginning of chapter 2 (Rad, Alicia, and Lavian, I think their names are), Boco, and Byblos), and you can only have 16 units.

I always get rid of the first group you start out with when I get enough "special"s to fill a 5 party team.

When I start the game I keep four "commoners" for my main party and dump everyone else. Then I keep any special characters that I pick up along the way. I also keep monster(s) if I am mining their offspring for items from poaching.

I usually dump Alicia, Lavian, Rad, and Boco. They have no unique abilities you can always get replacements later and give them the same names. That gives me enough space to breed monsters as necessary.

yeah when I get maybe 1/2 way threw chapter 4 all the generic characters become useless. But Rafa and Malak start off that way
Anyway, the 3 or 4 generics you get at the begining of chapter 2 I accept, strip of weapons/armon and dismis. Usually you need a little bit of cash early on and thats a good way to get some. LOL

I keep 3 generic characters around, along with the story characters that have unique classes. I don't ever get deep enough to get Byblos so that leaves two sopts open for monster breeding.

I keep all the initial generic characters (I need all of them).

I don't breed monsters, so it gives me enough space to keep all special/secret characters besides Rafa and Malak (I don't like their special powers).

I keep all special powers, 3 generics for quest purposes (I end up dismissing one of the ones in my intial party), Byblos and some Red Chocobos that I never use.

Byblos is one of the strongest characters in the game. Difference is sooooo cool.

I might end up using Byblos this time around, I'm considering using either him or Mustadio, I'm not sure which I'll pick.

Byblos is very strong. He can deal 999 damage against Elidibs (Difference)

And in the last battle Byblos (Difference) and Cloud (Climhazzard) can finish the last boss in a few turns.

You know, Beowulf has a move called "Shock!" which does the same thing difference does (I think). If Difference is the one that does damage according to the enemy's HP, then nevermind. Either way, though, they both rock .

Difference does damage according to the enemies' total MP. That's why it's so great against bosses.

I've seen the future, brother. It is murder.

When I start new games, I always keep 4 "commoners" depending on their brave/faith, I like to keep 2 commoners with high brave and 2 with high faith. Then I keep all special characters simply because I think they're cool and some of them in order to get other characters, like mustadio for cloud and worker8

I preferred the commoners over the special characters, actually...

I use all generic characters and Ramza for the most part.
    Lamia's Tiara- Headgear in FFIX
Lamia's Flute- Weapon for Eiko in FFIX
    Lamia in FFV- a enemy
appearance: a lady with long brown hair, wearing a tiara...half woman and half snake.
    Lamia in FF3j- A Harp
    Lamia in FFL2- An enemy
FF2j Queen Lamia, at one point she even gets Frionel in a bedroom with her and jumps on the bed and says "take me!".. before she turns into her snakey self. She serves as a mini boss in this game (as Queen Lamia).. and after you fight her as a mini boss, regular lamia's become random foes and later on in the game, Queen Lamia's become random foes as well.
LamiaScl. an item that paralyzes foes.
According to legend, she was once a Libyan queen (or princess) who fell in love with Zeus. Zeus' jealous wife Hera deformed her into a monster and murdered their offspring. She also made Lamia unable to close her eyes, so that she couldn't find any rest from the obsessing image of her dead children. When Zeus saw what had be done to Lamia, he felt pity for her and gave his former lover a gift: she could remove her eyes, and then put them on again. This way, though sleepless, she could rest from her misfortune. Lamia envied other the other mothers and took her vengeance by stealing their children and devouring them.
