    Default Quote tags

    I like the phpBB-style quote-in-a-box. Anyone else like it? I like it better than those ugly hr tags the normal quote uses. Example:

    [qq=Unne]Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.

    Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.

    Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.[/qq]

    And nested, it looks something like

    [qq=Unne]Text.

    [qq=Unne also]Some text.

    [qq=Unne one more time]More text.[/qq]

    Still more text.[/qq]

    So much text.[/qq]

    I'd actually like to replace the current default sucky

    Yes, they're a lot neater, and they're what I'm used to on fora.

    Thumbs up.

    I like those too. The lines are ugly. Boxes are pretty.

    Yes, I like the nested boxes if it will keep track of previous quotes. Right now if I quote someone that's quoted someone else, I only get the second quote, and not the original quote as well. But then againI don't know if that's something that the boxed quoting can fix or even if it's operator failure.

    I'm fine with either, as I'm used to both of them at different boards.

    If we go to boxes I just might quit coming here. I do not like them one bit...no, I don't.

    But do whatever you wish just the same.

    Right now you can use the [qq=Chester]blah[/qq] tag to do the new quote boxes. If people really hate the quote boxes then I can leave it as an optional tag and leave the default as the sucky two-hr-tag quotes. I don't want to scare Leeza away.

    You see these things?Which appear in all options you can set, such as when posting, in your user profile, etc. etc, as well as other places such as grouping attachments in posts.

    Well,They originally looked like this in vB3, boxing every single set of options, one box per where you now see just the one line with the text centred through it as above

    Which is messy, once you have like 10 boxes stacked on top of each other, like you get in your user CP pages I think it's fine for the odd quote box though, since they don't all get clumped together everywhere

    Originally posted by crono_logicalI wonder if having the text through the box line rather than outside the box completely would look even nicer?

    I was thinking about that too. It does look nicer, now that I see it.

    Well, I'm not sure really.

    EDIT: Neat, that tag is broken in IE. Top padding doesn't work. Thanks, Microsoft!

    EDIT: There, see how you all like that. For reference, this is the first version:
