    Post 2 noobie questions

Ok, im going to buy this game soon and am looking to make a RNG. So i have two basic questions that anyone (cept me) can answer.

    1. How rare is gil? Cause the price of ammo for a RNG is alot
    2. How easy is it to level in the beginning, like if i wanna get to lvl 30 with a theif how easy is it, and how long will it take?

Gil pretty much governs everything, you can either spend two hours farming for 20K if your GOOD at it, or you can find other ways to do it, but one thing is for sure, it takes time, and sometimes a whole lot of it.

You would lvl THF to 18(might take some time, ppl usually dont take THFs without subjobs), lvl WAR your subjob to 15, then lvl the THF to 30 or 37, then lvl your RNG finally. Will take at least one-two months...dunno depends on your style.

    Default another noobie question

before i make a character, just as a point of reference, what is the easiest character race/class for a beginner to the genre (total beginner. only reason i got the game is because i saw a friend playing and was like, "whoa") to play and grow accustomed to? i really have no preference as to what kind of character i want to play, i'm sure the game is just as rewarding for the thief-player as it is for the mage or fighter. any bits of advice?

Here's a whole slew of info on FFXI. Probably more than you'll ever care to read.

its good to think of what you are going to use as your sub job. If you start as say a theif you and use a bow and level it up while you level up your theif as well as get good practice pulling so when you become a ranger you will be set to go. Bows are expensive and arrows run 800-900 for 99 of the lower level ones. Don't know much about ranger weapons over lv 17 though but I would think theif would be a good way to start.
