Default Drats you windows error reporter!

Well here I am on my computer when out of no where one of those "Send a error reports to microsoft" windows pops up, well I try to close it and everytime I do it just pops up again. So I tried sending it, worked fine, then hit close when it said it was done, and it popped up again and well it won't go away now. So anyone know how to stop this stupid message from staying open indefinatly?

What program is causing it? You can find out by clicking on 'details' I think. Depending on what the program is, it might stop the error popups by deleting it. Of course, it could be adware, in which case AdAware and Spybot would help you out in that department.

There's an option to turn it off completely. Right-click My Computer and dig around in there somewhere. I'm not in Windows so I can't check where. Someone else will.

My Computer > Right click > Properties > Advanced > Error Reporting > Disable Error Reporting

But yeah, find out what program is causing it.

Well it says the program causing it is something in (a long series of folders) but the file name is in my Temp folder ultimatly and the file is named WER32.tmp.dir00\sysdata.xml

Dunno might be ad-aware releated. Ran ad-aware today and well since I did that I've been fighting a war against all the spy ware on my computer, and as of current I'm not really winning.

Although another question, I try to go to a website now that I normally could, and all I get is porn now (it's because of the spy-ware that's been infecting my computer of of lately.) So how do I change it back?

    Maybe look in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC\HOSTS .

    EDIT: See http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm

Reinstall Windows and make sure you run a firewall and anti-virus program.

EDIT: Spybot Search and Destroy can automatically edit your Host files with known spyware related websites and programs and block them for you.

Well I got spybot and ran it for a while and well not anywhere closer to ridding my computer of all this junk.

    Reinstall Windows
I would, but can't as I don't have the disks or at least I don't think the place where I got mine built ever gave me the disks after they built it.

Anywhos well still working on this slowly, I think I'm making a bit of progress at least, but still trying to figure out half of the stuff people say on helping all tis (maybe it's about time I actually attempted to learn about computers beyond the very basics. )

What happens when you run spybot/adaware? It should find a bunch of junk, then delete them.

Have antivirus? Run that too. Check your programs (control panel -> add/remove programs) for things that you don't remember installing, then...well, I wouldn't say uninstall them all, but I guess you can try that (I hold no responsibility, blah blah)

I got spy bot and ad- aware, they get a lot of them, but I just keep getting them as fast as I can delete them. And I've been running my virus scanner too and took out a few viruses, but it refuses to delete one virus because of the file it's in (it's a trojan virus by the way) so I figured I would need to go through and delete it myself. But it ends up the file it's infecting, the name at least, doesn't seem to exsist, I have hidden files on and have traced it's path and I can't find it at all where it should be.

If you need to know it's in my TEMP folder and the file itself is called UPDATE.dat
