Well, Del, all you have to do is look on the packages for the games. I believe Tetsuya Nomura designed VII, VIII, and X's characters, while Shukou Murase designed IX's. I could be wrong about the second guy, though.
It was Amano, I believe. Maybe Murase made the SD versions the game actually used, but the characters were based on Amano's art.

Any Amano art from VII, VIII, or X is based on Nomura's designs.
