Sorry, there is none. You'll just have to deal with the random battles.

If it's any consolation, once you get the airship, random battles on the overworld map are a thing of the past.

Or just keep a chocobo handy, which you have access to rather early in the game.

You can get a 'No Encounter' accessory, but only if you reach the end of the final dungeon in under one hour.

lol, i cant do it in under 12 to get exaclibur 2, never mind 1

of course its also possible to save aeris in ff7, u just have to kill sephiroth with zack in the flash back

You can still get Excalibur II by waiting until the gameplaytime pass 100. Then it can be gained again. Just don't let the timer pass 112 hours.

Let me just state at this point that Excalibur II is really, really not worth the hassle. The only thing that makes it worth doing is the kudos you'll get from your peers. And if you want that, you can always lie.

I believe, if you continue to pause and unpause the game after every single step you take, you will avoid encounters...

hey ultima shadow, have u got it that way? cause i used that method instead and it WAS NOT THERE . i always assumed that method was rubbish. its in the room u kill lich right by 1 of the pillars?

Yes, i have it. Hmmmmm maybe it have to be AFTER 111 hours but still under 112... it was long ago i got it. I don't remember exactly how... but i got it and i didn't complete the game in under 12 hours. I'm on my second play trough... if i get it again i'll tell you.

If you take small steps and stop periodically, you should have less encounters. I read it somewhere and it worked for me.

I will check it out when I'm there. But it will take some time because I have just reached the outer continent and played 22 hours.

No, wait... Did you kill Lich before trying to get it? If so, then maybe it's that. I remember spendig the time on the chocobo games when waiting for the timer to pass 100. Gold chocobo is needed to get the Ultima Weapon for Zidane. And finaly, I also remember figthing Lich with the Ultima Weapon. Maybe it's like this: When Lich is defeated the timer is checked. If the timer is less than 12 (or 100- 112) hours, then the Excalibur II can be found. I'm not sure if it's like this but maybe, because i remember the figth against Lich with my Ultima Weapon and i remember NOT having Gold chocobo when i started to wait for the timer to reach 100.
