I think the fire is just used to add tension to the fight, plus it shows what a cheat Seifer is (who blinds a man and then tries to take his face off!? Where's the dignity in that?) It also shows the rivalry between Squall and Seifer in a cool way- its better than watching them grumble and stare at each other from across the classroom.

The real question is did Seifer take Squall's lunch-money after the fight?

Well... the reason he didn't get a burn mark is because it's Final Fantasy. When you are attacked, you don't get hurt physically, instead, it hurts your Spr and HP.

Then explain Squall's scar, and how he mentions "My forehead hurts," at the beginning.

Purple flames are just hotter blues.

I was pretty sure those came only from chemical reactions. Other than in Chemistry, I have never seen a green or purple flame. Who knows, I may be wrong. But in all my years as a pyro, I've never seen purple or green other than in a chemical reaction.

Does that explain it why (SPOILER)Edea's Ice Strike through Squall's heart didn't leave him any physical injuries?

I find it weird how Squall has so much trouble fighting Seifer in the intro FMV. In every battle you fight against him, Seifer is a total cakewalk, and Squall defeats him easily.

*sets about hacking the game* right I will attempt to make Seifer level 100 with all the abilities he could have had if he were in my party factor is another 100,000 HP and then set him up in a one on one battle with Squall alone Muahahahaahaha! now my pretties let us see what happens!!

umm well so far he's level 100 with 100,000 HP and I tried it he ownzed me...even when I performed Lionheart on him flawlessly. Ok seriously forget the abilities and the GF I was gonna add in it's impossible. (took the code for the first battle with him in gabaldia garden and played with the values and then killed the others off before fighting him I got owned and yeah now I think I wont save the changes in code.
