Thread: Opening FMV

    Default Opening FMV

Alright, I just started this game...again, and I was watching the opening FMV. The first question is, since Seifer used his 'Firecross' on Squall, wouldn't there be a burn mark from the fire? And the other, before Seifer slashes Squall, I saw a lil explosion by Seifer's gun tip, and I was wondering if he had shot a shot at Squall?

Well there might have been a burn mark...but we'll never know..and no squall doesn't get shot just a scar.

Probably because he got slashed and burned. His scar always seemed a little dark to me, maybe it's partly a burn too?

Well, if it was just that small blast, then it probably wouldn't burn him, since the flame was only orange. If you've ever put a candle out with your fingers, its the same concept, he touched the coolest of the flame, and it was only for a breif second, so it wouldn't leave any sort of burn at all.

Exactly. It was a pretty strong surge of fire, but not too hot and very brief. His jacket can be seen sparking for a few moments afterward, but since his body caught the majority of the blast, he didn't get burned. 'Course, in real life he'd have been left with a lot of singed hairs, but this is Final Fantasy and everyone has perfect hair all the time.[q=Shiva's Effect]And the other, before Seifer slashes Squall, I saw a lil explosion by Seifer's gun tip, and I was wondering if he had shot a shot at Squall?[/q]Yep, he fired all right... you can even see the empty cartridge falling out of the chamber. But he fired early, so the shot missed and went above Squall's head. Seifer, even though he's dangerously violent, wouldn't blow his own buddy's brains out. However, if he had fired just a moment later, things would've turned out very different...

It would have been a much shorter game...

lol 2 first part BigD, and for second part, i guess so, but, if he didn't wanna blow his brains out, then y'd he fire in the first place?

Why would he cut Squall's forehead? Same thing... He doesn't take training seriously, for he has a huge ego.

yeah, but he can control how much of the blade hit Squall, i guess he just wanted to give him a reminder that he's still like...ya no, da trout, and he fired bcause he felt threatened by Squall or something, but got nervous and fired to early i guess

Seifer is very skilled, he knew he was going to injure Squall. It'd take a great deal of skill and control to aim a blade so well that it causes a deep cut without hitting the bone. Basically, if he didn't aim his swing just right, he'd have split Squall's head open.
I'd say he wanted to draw blood, to have a 'genuine' victory; firing his weapon was probably a part of that - a sign that "I could kill you, I'm more powerful, I'm the better fighter".
