Uh...the concept of not questioning rules is something that never appealed to me, then again, it's not a big deal of a rule anyway. If I had a real problem with any rule, I'd be so annoying you'd have to ban me.

The rules are made according to our whims. We limit sig pics to a certain size. Why? Huge sig pics annoy us. Same with profanity. It annoys us. I don't see that we need any reason other than that. Because it's pointless and silly. Since my philosophy is 'hypocrisy whenever possible', I'll give an example: I swear on occasion but whenever I hear others swear it just sounds wrong, so I don't like to hear people swear.

If you can't understand the reason, there's nothing more we can do. We've explained it, you can't understand it. I guess your level of thoughts, ethics and/or morals are different... but we can't help that, and we made this rule based on the thoughts, ethics and morals of the people in the seats of power. We can do that kinda stuff whenever we like, and we made this rule and we personally find it to be what is best for EoFF. It breeds a welcoming and friendly environment. If you want to swear at FF forums, go to other FF forums and do it there. Maybe make your own? I don't know. But we have used this method and it works very well for us.

I can name a few people off the top of my head, and they've already posted in this thread. Oh, and I don't mind swearing - but I understand why they do. It's just an offensive word, plain and simple.

But we aren't in Tahiti. If this was a site specifically for people in Tahiti, we would probably allow pictures of breasts to be shown. If this was a site about, say, Eamon or Eminem, I am sure that swearing would be tolerated (and a lot of it, too). But swearing isn't in the English version of Final Fantasy (from my recollection) and we are not a PG site, we are an open site for anyone who wishes to join and speak with other people who like Final Fantasy. This is regardless of their age. You will notice that Disney movies don't have swear words. Why not? Because there are a lot of children who watch them, and it isn't needed. The same goes for this website. There are a lot of children who visit this site, alongside other people who don't like swearing, and swearing is not needed. We can only gain from disallowing swearing, and gain we do.

If you still don't understand after all of this, then I am sorry, but I don't think you'll ever understand the rule, and you'll just have to accept this and go along with it.

Uh...no, my point is that bad words are read in FF, not that I do it cause Squall does it. I'm not that stupid. Of course, if it wasn't in the English translation, then I guess the Spaniard who translated just puts cursing to the Spanish people can feel identificated, or something.
