I lean towards the eest side on this issue, but I don't feel too strongly about it. It's not a big deal to pm someone to delete/close it.
The 0 posts idea is an interesting thought.

I always intend to write a hack for that, but have never gotten around for it.
We don't allow people to delete their own threads on FG, so draw your own conclusions. It's abused far too often, I think.
I'm with Unne on this one for the most part. Rare thing, I've noticed, so we must be right.

Another reason to be against thread deletion:
The other day I had to un-delete a thread that the person deleted after he and another member had been going at each other's throats for a few posts. This will prevent people from doing something like that and then trying to cover it up.
Thats right. If thread deletion wasn't allowed in the past we would know who shot JFK and if aliens ever landed at Area 51 near Roswell.
Cover-ups are bad people, mmmkay.

why don't staff just give warnings to people who abuse the thread deletion priviledge? I suppose that would be more effort than just a blanket ban.
