Heh, actually that was my answer; the whole 'I am many things, but I share one quality'. But I believe I have it narrowed down to something that is in FFVIII.

Then my only guess would be Ultima/Atma Weapon for the following reasons
Defeat the ultimate to get the same, - Defeat Ultima/Atma Weapon and recieve Ultima/Atma Weapon
Hunt, discover, and spend, - This one stumped me
Riding on a bird near the bubbling transporter, - The remains of the transporter to Terra in FFIX
Travel to the beyond, then return to the place of tranquility, - See above
