The time Travel thing it throwing me for a loop, but perhaps its Cloud Strife? Throuought the game you get visions of his past, even playing it out in one part.
If this is something from FFXI or one of the Game Boy FFs I'm gonna shoot you (Excluding FFTA, that game was decent).
its not FFXI, FFXI doesnt have anything to do with time. has to be Chaos, FFI?
Posting a riddle about FFXI would be unfair, since not everyone pays $12.95 a month to play. Whereas people will pay $20 bucks to play a game for a lifetime.

Would it happen to be Final Fantasy Tactics? There were mentions of time travel & Cloud... So it has to be Tactics, as there are many references to Final Fantasy VII in that game, like the crater for instance. He travelled through time to the Tactics era, which was like a totally different era of time in Final Fantasy. It also might be FFVIII, which also made references back to FFVII... I don't know otherwise.

I hope I'm not incorrect with his name but none of those matches.
Either way no matter what anyone answers now, grover essentially has it, the chaos shrine being. But his name would be of great interest now as no one has gotten it yet. So Grover I pass the turn to you, but anyone wanting to guess the name is welcome to for what you might like to call a "bonus point", if nothing else
