Thread: I'm old.

  1. #1

    Default I'm old.

My knees and ankles pop whenever I walk up stairs.

And my roommate just moaned in his sleep.

That's been happening to me since I was eight, and my brother moaned in his sleep when I used to share a room with him.

I can just make them move about when I rotate them. I can't crack my ankles.

My brother moans, shouts, thrashes about, swears, etc. in his sleep. The weird thing is that he does none of that in real life.

My neck cracks a lot. So do my knees; that's how I get so many stress injuries playing sport. :/

Just about every part of my arms and legs pop involentarily every so often. It scares me.

And the screaming, moaning, talking, cussing, ect. in the sleep...my dad does that. -__-

My right knee pops quite often, although there is no pain with the pop. I can also pop/crack my fingers and knuckles if I want to, but I don't make a habit of performing that particular action.

I don't have a link to the page, but I remember reading an internet study article a few months ago concerning this subject. The scientists involved with the study performed checks on a wide range of people both young and old, some of which had arthritis, and some of which didn't. According to the results of the survey, clicking/cracking/popping your bones had no proven effect on the human body. Many people who suffered from arthritis did not have bones that clicked and popped. Links to other surveys/studies were also provided, none of which supported the theory that cracking your bones lead to any sort of future illness.

Needless to say, it put my mind at rest.

My knees are feeble and bad. If I sit for a long time, they really start hurting. :/
