I never accused you of being a bandwagon fan.

But I know you wouldn't say the Lakers were boring if they were completely defense oriented like Detroit.

Often people never give underdogs credit. You can make a case for a 1 game series, but a 7 game series? Detroit is clearly the better team, boring or not.

I almost always cheer for the underdog. I love underdogs. Heck, I love all dogs. Especially cute little ones. My parents have a little dog that's about a foot long (like a hot dog! Ha ha.. ha.. sorry) and it's so cute.

    Go Pistons!

detroit has obviously taken the approach of runnign around the entire game, regardless of score, just to wear the Lakers down. It obviosuly works since the Pistons have dominated in the fourth qaurter whereas the Lakers have faltered.

As much as I love Aretha Franklin, you'd think she'd atleast not fake the national anthem.

Yeah, I noticed that they didn't leave the camera on her much after the first few lines.

10 point lead late in the 2nd! This is going well so far.

No Malone, so that's one less person to body up the Wallaces, which seems almost like waving the white flag by Phil Jackson. As a sign had it, "The Lakers don't need Coach Phil, they need Dr. Phil!"

    Take care all.

You know that you're ridiculously bad defensively when you hear assistant coaches muttering, "We gotta stop that Ben Wallace fellow."

One quarter left. I daresay we shouldn't begin the party yet, but we're well on our way to it.

23 point lead going into the 4th quarter!

If the Pistons blow this, I'm going to eat my socks.

The only question left, who is the playoff MVP? My vote goes to Rip Hamilton, who can be the second coming of Reggie Miller if he gets a little more range.

    Take care all.

Everybody go ahead and get your slices of the cake I made. Sorry, Yams, you're not allowed.

    Edit:
    Game 1 MVP: Chauncey Billups
    Game 2 MVP: Chauncey Billups
    Game 3 MVP: Rip Hamilton
    Game 4 MVP: Rasheed Wallace
    Game 5 MVP: Ben Wallace

This is by far the hardest vote. I'm gonna have to go with Chauncey Billups, though.

Chaunce might get the MVP vote.

But this will be the first 5 game sweep in NBA finals history.

We're already celebrating in our other thread.

    Grab a slice!

I think this could have been the first time ever TEAM MVP, but Billups deserved it. Though, I'd also say Ben Wallace deserved so much credit because his defense is what set the tone for the team.

Congrats to Detriot, and to Larry Brown, the first coach ever to win the NCAA and NBA Basketball title.

Is there a better exec in the business than Joe Dumars right now? Perhaps Jerry West, but right now, Joe D is DA Man!

Also, I will officially state that this is the end of the Lakers run as they currently appear. Shaq will be back, but who else?

    Take care all.
