In 3 years I've only received about 80 or so PMs, and probably half of them are from offline friends. So I'm never really for that. I suppose the best and easiest way to meet me is on #eoff, because I'm on there 5-6 hours a day, and I actually respond, unlike most of the people there. I receive NOTHING in my e-mail, besides the occassional LJ Comment, but even those are starting to get rare. So IRC is my favorite place to meet online friends for the first time.

So how do you like it when online friends talk to you via telephone? Or atleast leave random messages on your answering machine?

Offline, I can talk to you IM, I don't think it's weird in any way, because usually there's no way that a person can call me anymore (and I blame all of you for that). Face-to-face ain't too shabby either.

Online: IM or PM because if people want to talk to me, what better way than in private?
Offline: Talking, whether on the phone or face to face. Although I get embarresed really easy and am quite shy, so I suppose phone.

Telephones are such a lossy format, and I hate them.

First time online contact: PM, LJ Comment, E-Mail.
Good online friends: MSN, PM, LJ Comment, E-Mail.
First time offline contact: Face to face...
Good offline friends: Face to face, MSN.

On-line, I prefer IMs, as long as the person is decent. PMs are nice, too, I suppose. I like playing a guessing game via AIM, trying to guess who the new person is. I don't know....I just find that amusing.

Off-line, I'm never the best with face-to-face interaction. I prefer the phone, although face-to-face is rather nice.

    Anyway...

First time online contact: IM, or LJ.
Good online friends: PM, IM, and LJ
First time offline contact: Face to face.
Good offline friends: Face to face, IM, even no one I know offline IMs me, or even knows my handle.

Online: IMs. That's by far my main form of communication with people. I like e-mails too, not that I actually get e-mails.

Offline: Face to face. I hate talking on the phone.

Online: PM or IM, though I rarely get any of those.
Offline: Face to face. The phone is just awkward.

Online I prefer IMs because I'm impatient and want whatever I'm saying to be responded to as soon as possible. Offline I like face to face communication because that allows us to actually go do something and have good times.

I often IM people. And face to face as well. As I get to yell and act crazy.

I guess I prefer pms because you don't have to reply right away and it keeps the convorsation short. I prefer IMs with offline friends actually, because they know my mannerisms and how I am so I can type like I actually talk and they can get it. Plus this way I don't have to talk out loud which is something I don't like doing because I'm not very good at it.
