Low carb diets are a scam. It's not like it's something you can do to shave off a few pounds and go back to your normal diet - if you want to take it off, and keep it off, you have to stick to it. It's advertised so that people think it's a miracle diet, and without even looking into it, they just start eating hamburgers without bread. It's ridiculous.

Like people in this thread already stated, the best way is to just cut back. Counting calories is a good way. I know there's a formula for finding out how many calories you require per day, though I don't remember what it is off the top of my head. That's a lot better than killing yourself on a "miracle diet."
