I found this article by mistake on a site I was looking at and I found it really interesting.

I thought it was intertesting because he's a mythical creature that dates back to the greek gods and was used a watch dog, and when you summon him in FF8, his summon relates alot to his history as a mythical creature. He was a "watch dog to the greek underworld and a faithful servent to hades". He was a watchdog to whoever summoned him and a faithful servent to whoever summoned him. Well not a servent like that, but I think you know what I mean.

And his summon is dark, he's guarding a dark castle. In greek mythology he was the watchdog of the underworld.

Oh and if you go to "races" and scroll down there is a bit about about Siren the mermaid too.

I found it interesting, although I already knew the basic facts about Cerberus, that he was a three headed dog that gaurded th underworld.

I didn't know all that much about Siren, though. Neat article. *thumbs up*

Most (if not all) of the summons are based on ancient greek history. :elk:

Hmm... I know that Quezacotl is Aztec and Odin is Norse, but I'm not sure about any of the others.
